FBA Program Update - Great Things on the Horizon!
Although it is summer - a time for many to take vacations or slow down from their hectic work and school schedules, we are busy at the Chamber planning our FBA Programs for the coming year! Our mission is to help you gain control of your business, learn where you are today, envision where you want to be in the future and develop a plan to get there.
The 'All in the Family Gatherings' will continue to offer networking opportunities and the ability to connect and learn more about other family businesses in Berks County. Watch for dates, times and locations to be announced soon.
David Wimer will continue our 'Educating the Family Workshop Series,' which focuses on specific topics unique to family businesses. These informative two-hour sessions are held at the Chamber's Center for Business Excellence in Wyomissing. Dave has enjoyed a 35+ year career in business. He has owned and operated five businesses in different sectors: B2B direct sales, technology, logistics, manufacturing and franchise. Applying these experiences, Dave took on leadership challenges as a key financial and chief executive for three family businesses. Topics and dates to be announced soon.
The 2015 FBA Fall Forum is tentatively planned for late October/early November and promises to be a great event again this year. We are working to ensure this year's program will be informative and valuable for attendees. A Save-the-Date will be released in the coming weeks. Watch your email for this exciting news!
In addition to working in an ever changing business climate, family-owned companies face a host of unique challenges that often complicate the day to day running of the business. Berks FBA was created to address these pressing issues, helping businesses to find solutions to the complex, unique issues that families working together often struggle to overcome. The Chamber strives to provide programming that is beneficial to our members. We hope you will take advantage of all the opportunities FBA has to offer!
For more information on programming or general questions, please contact Danielle Antos, Program Coordinator, 610.898.7780.
Re-Evaluate and Re-Energize Your Business with the Chamber Score Card!
As a business owner, your journey to success can encounter wrong turns, detours, and even dead-ends. At certain stages of your business growth, there may be different obstacles and challenges that need to be addressed and overcome.
The Chamber Scorecard is a FREE assessment tool that helps 'take the pulse of your business' by identifying and improving the health of your business in 5 key areas: Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Operations, Sales, and Management.
By completing the Scorecard assessment tool, the Chamber's expert business advisors will be able to identify the areas in your business where there is opportunity for growth and improvement so we can assist you in developing an action plan. The Scorecard is completely confidential and is available for you to take at your convenience. Upon completing all sections of the assessment (a 30 minute exercise), you will be on your way to operating a healthy business... but your journey is not over there. We guide you to a seasoned advisor through our partnership with SCORE and a resource group of subject matter expert advisors who will assist in creating a plan to get you to your final destination...SUCCESS! To participate in the Chamber Scorecard, please contact Tammy Giorgio, Member Services Representative, 610.898.7778.
Get in the Conversation... With facilitated Peer to Peer Exchange Groups!
Family business owners face extraordinary challenges unique to running a family business. This is a great way to gather with your peers, share common problems and experiences, and to learn how to deal with your unique situations. Are you looking for a forum to discuss issues you are facing in your family business? Are you looking for peer advice? What about knowing others who understand your unique situations?
We allow only one participant per group from each industry segment in order to avoid competitive concerns. The groups are facilitated by Pat Langiotti, Owner of Creative Management Concepts and Chet Mosteller, President of Mosteller & Associates. Pat and Chet are industry experts with many years of experience assisting family-owned businesses.
To promote camaraderie and trust, enrollment is for a designated individual (not meant for a company to send different people at different times). Enrollment in a Facilitated Peer Exchange Group is limited to Chamber members. Peer Groups are meeting a minimum of 8-10 times per year and the annual participation fee is $400.
To hear testimonials from Peer Group participants, please click here. Sign up by contacting Danielle Antos, Program Coordinator, 610.898.7780.
